Des ouvrages pour les adultes et les plus jeunes, qui aident à découvrir et comprendre la culture sourde
At 14 years old, and fresh out of professional training school, this young Frenchman was ordered to report for work at an airplane factory, «Les Constructions Amiot», located in the Paris conurbation. He was assigned, as a mechanic, to an assembly line building German Junker planes (JU-52).
Along with this paid activity, he volunteered into the Red Cross where he received nurse training, ... and he joined the French Resistance as an information agent.
In June 1944, we find him sitting in a US Army Jeep that is opening the way for the 82nd Rec. Bat., 2nd Armored Div. US that is moving from Normandy to a strategic location right outside of Paris. He had enrolled as a Foreign Civilian Volunteer while the Division was still fighting its way into Normandy and away from the landing beaches. He will participate in the liberation of occupied territories through France and Belgium, all the way to the Dutch border.
A few years after having returned to civilian life, he will plunge back into warfront military life when he joins the UN French Battalion sent to Korea, along with units from some 21 other countries headed by the US, as a response to the United Nations call. He will serve there as a Combat Medic.
His testimony on the «FORGOTTEN WAR» represents a precious jewel of that period's history.
