This work is a summary of the book «THE TIPPING POINT: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference» by Malcolm Gladwell.

Malcolm Gladwell is a graduate of the University of Toronto. He has been a reporter for the Washington Post for nine years and is currently a staff writer for The New Yorker magazine. According to the author, the best way to think about the emergence of new ideas, products and consumer preferences is to expect them to follow the laws of epidemics. The «tipping point» is the name given to the moment at which an epidemic or a virus reaches critical mass. Once an epidemic reaches this point, it is poised to enjoy sudden and dramatic growth almost overnight.

In the world of viruses, there is a single point at which growth moves sharply upwards. This is the essence of the tipping point concept in action. In The Tipping Point , Gladwell describes the three basic rules that ideas must obey to actually reach and then ideally move beyond the tipping point.

The Tipping Point is a very stimulating book that will have a huge impact on the life of many businesspeople.
