J’ai aimé ces deux précédents romans. J’ai trouvé celui-ci moins émouvant, moins lumineux. Le récit factuel et détaillé jusqu’au moindre détail m’a demandé des efforts pour accéder aux émotions de ses personnages. Sally Rooney a cependant conservé son écriture talentueuse qui permet de saisir les pensées et les dynamiques propres à sa génération et à sa classe sociale, celle d’une jeune femme citadine, éduquée et féministe. Roman qui se lit facilement en langue anglaise même lorsque l’on n’est pas complètement « fluent. »
